WHY OP Santa?

"

I joined OP Santa because Christmas personally means a lot to me and growing up I always looked forward to the holiday season and associate it with some of the happiest times of my life, so - since I have the opportunity to do so - I want to be able to share some of that joy and happiness with someone who really needs it, even if it's just for a little bit.

"

Favorite Part about the holidays?

During the holidays, Katelyn enjoys spending time with her family and friends listening to Christmas music and watching the light shows. In addition to that, she loves the weather come winter.

Favorite Memory?

"

I stared at the glimmers of red and green covering our floor and wiped a drop of sweat off my forehead. We had finally finished sewing and wrapping 100 blankets. Next stop, delivering to the homeless population in downtown L.A. Although it was overwhelming and tough work, the smiles of families as we passed them out made it all worthwhile.

This is the memory that I hold dearest about the holiday season because it reminds me of the first time that I truly got into the spirit of opening my heart to others rather than just opening presents.

"

Favorite Part about the holidays?

"

My absolute favorite part about the holiday season is the air. The air permeated by joy and softness. The air that carries the sound of my family's laughter and the smell of a specially cooked dinner. The air with a crisp coldness barely felt in the warmth of a household filled with love and light.
